Hi, my name is Gracie Westergaard, and I'm the creator of The Bonecast!
The idea for this podcast came to me in the summer of 2025 while I was interning at an NPR branch after graduating with my bachelor’s degree in music performance.
I started thinking about how much of the trombone world goes unnoticed. We spend so much time talking about audition excerpts and landing the next gig, but what about taking care of our bodies so we can play our best? What about the local trombonists who inspire their communities? What about the stories we don’t always hear?
The Bonecast exists to make space for those conversations. It’s a place to share experiences, perspectives, and voices from across the trombone world. I’m so excited to share these stories with you, starting March 5, with new episodes every Thursday. Thanks so much for being here, and I hope you’ll listen along!
